This filter set is a replacement for Berkey BB9-2 black filters and PF-2 fluoride filters and is compatible with Berkey-style gravity systems in the Travel, Big, Royal, Imperial, Light, and Crown series (not sourced by or sponsored by Berkey; Filterlogic is an independent brand). Certified to NSF/ANSI 372 for lead-free materials, it features BPA-free, lead-free housing and uses a coconut-shell activated carbon block for chlorine adsorption, while the fluoride filter uses granular activated carbon and activated alumina to support better-tasting water. For first use, flush the black carbon filter for 1 minute and the fluoride filter for 20 seconds; minor splashing may occur if a faucet connection is not fully compatible. Recommended replacement is up to 6,000 gallons per pair for black filters and 1,000 gallons per pair for fluoride filters, depending on local water conditions; this system does not reduce TDS.
