Rare Vintage Pigeon Oil Lamp – Exceptional Example with Unique Painted Glass (c. 1920–1930)

A remarkable and highly collectible vintage Pigeon oil lamp, featuring an exceptionally beautiful and unusual glass chimney. This is likely an early model dating from around 1920–1930, and it stands out as a truly fantastic example for collectors and vintage‑design lovers alike.

The front displays a wealth of original embossed text, including Lampe Pigeon and Garantie Véritable.
Below that is additional lettering, and at the bottom two emblems marked 1885 and 1886.
Between these emblems is the iconic pigeon motif, the well‑known symbol from which the Pigeon lamp derives its name.

The glass chimney is particularly special — far more decorative than the versions usually seen. It features a more elegant rim and beautifully painted details that create a wonderfully warm and atmospheric light when the lamp is lit. A true eye‑catcher.

Inside the reservoir, absorbent cotton ensures steady oil regulation, allowing the lamp to burn for a remarkably long time while maintaining safety and stability.

As with any authentic vintage item, it shows light signs of age, which only enhance its character. There are a few tiny marks on the glass, but to preserve the original painted decorations, it has not been cleaned with stronger products.
